Sugarcane Molasses as a Cost-effective Carbon Source on Arthrospira maxima Growth by Taguchi Technique

In this research, a new cost-effective carbon source of medium was provided in terms high-efficiency growth from Arthrospira maxima. Sugarcane molasses used two different modes (alternative and additive) at four concentrations (0, 0.5, 1.0 1.5 gL-1) to determine the effect versus its standard Zarrouk’s (NaHCO3). The experimental results were analyzed by Taguchi L8 method as statistical technique. highest biomass production obtained when sugarcane added an alternative source, which 5.31 times higher than usual Zarrouk's media. Furthermore, final concentration increased with increasing 0 gL-1 group. At concentration, phycocyanin (at 0.11 0.12 gL-1), allophycocyanin 0.13 carotenoids 2340 2535 mgL-1), chlorophyll 23.83 24.83 b 0.343 2.99 mgL-1) additive sources, respectively. Finally, replacement sources had potential possibility order reduce costs maxima growth.
